Sweat Reducing Injections for Excessive Sweating

The term Hyperhidrosis describes excessive sweating. It is estimated to affect approximately 1% of the population. There can be positive family history of the disease but the underlying cause is not yet fully understood.

Tiny amounts of Botox are injected approx every centimetre in the affected area. It works by reducing the effect of local nerves stimulating the sweat glands. This results in the prduction of less sweat.

The procedure takes approx 30 mins for both armpits and a reduction in sweat will be noticed in 2-10 days. Most people find a reduction in excessive sweating for around 8 months, but some do feel the benefits for one year or longer.
